5-Hour Limits at Parking Kiosks:
The Borough has an ordinance in place to include a five hour limitation on parking. This ordinance is in effect during the parking kiosk schedule listed above. When entering the Borough, you may choose to pay to park for one hour, two hours, three hours, four hours or the five hour limitation.
Example: Your vehicle must move from it's original parking space to another parking space before or within the five hour window. A ticket will be issues for non-compliance to this ordinance.

Dispute a ticket: If you want to dispute a parking ticket, do not make payment on the ticket. Keep in mind that the fees will increase due to the added costs of the filing . Your parking ticket will then go to a citation filed through the Magistrate's Office. The Magistrate's office will set-up a summary hearing in front of the Magistrate. Your hearing notice will be mailed to you with the date/time of the hearing. The Magistrate's office is located at 340 Center Avenue, Jim Thorpe Pa. 18229.
Failure to Pay parking Ticket: A citation will be issued if payments are not received after ten days of the violation. The fees will increase due to the added costs of the filing. Once a citation is forwarded to the District Magistrate, all fines and costs must be paid at the Office of the Magistrate located at 340 Center Avenue, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229. Additional Parking Information: Our kiosks are user friendly. Take a moment and read the instructions. Our kiosk system takes quarters, bills, credit cards and parking app but DO NOT give change. The kiosk system is PAY AND DISPLAY your receipt on your dashboard. The Borough of Jim Thorpe issues "Electronic" Parking Tickets and "Yellow" Parking Tickets. Borough tickets can be paid at the RED BOXES, POLICE DEPARTMENT, ONLINE or US MAIL. The County of Carbon also issues Electronic Parking Ticket. County ticket numbers start with CC. If you receive an Electroning Parking Ticket starting with CC, contact the County at (570)325-3611 regarding questions about County tickets.
Permit Parking Information: Residential permit parking areas are designated from 5 West Broadway to 415 West Broadway inclusive and all of High Street. Signs designating the permit parking areas are posted in those areas.
Parking in designated residential permit parking areas shall be in accordance with the following:
1) Vehicles with a residential parking permit may park at any time in a designated residential permit parking area.
2) Vehicles without a parking permit may not park in the designated residential permit parking area at any time.
Enforcement: Any vehicle parked in the designated areas without a permit shall be subject to a citation or ticket in the amount of $50.00, and additional citation(s) or ticket(s) plus costs if the vehicle remains parked illegally for each 8 hours after the first ticket is issued.
