BEWARE!!! Phone Scam! | Borough of Jim Thorpe PA

The Jim Thorpe Police Department received notification from one of Local Banks that an customer received a scam call today. The context of the call was as follows: When the customer answered the phone, the caller stated "We have detected illegal activity from you bank accounts on your internet banking, the only way to get this taken care of is to report it to the Federal Reserve Bank. Please remain on the line and we will start a case with the Federal Reserve. Press 1 now". The caller hung right up and notified the bank. If you receive any phone calls regarding your bank account, please contact your bank and as always never provide your personal information over the phone to unknown sources.
